The ADAPT service delivers a community based drug & alcohol prevention & treatment support service to individuals under 18 years and families across the midlands area. The service provides support and treatment to those under 18 years who are experiencing difficulties in relation to their drug and/or alcohol use themselves or are affected by drug and/or alcohol misuse within families. The service also be provides education, information and support to service users and families. Service team will also support the delivery of a range of education and prevention programmes in line with best practice to the community, voluntary and statutory sectors.
HSE CADS provides assessment and treatment in the community for adults concerned with their own or another person’s drug and/or alcohol use. In addition to this, our Addiction Homeless service provides support to those who are in addiction or at risk of becoming addicted and are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless due to their addiction
The overall purpose of our service is to seek to minimise drug and/or alcohol harm in order to have a positive impact on individuals, families and communities. The service also offers assessment and treatment for gambling addiction
MQI DATS project delivers a community-based drug and alcohol prevention and treatment support service to those over 18 years and families across the counties of Laois, Offaly, Longford and Westmeath.
Services include key working, inter-agency case management, family support and family support specialist services. Services also include outreach based crisis support service, harm reduction and mobile needle & syringe exchange programme, information, education and advocacy supports.
The Midland Regional Drug Task Force is one of ten Regional Drug Task Forces in Ireland that was set up in 2003 on foot of recommendations arising from the then National Drugs Strategy (NDS), to facilitate a more effective response to the drugs problem in areas experiencing the highest levels of substance misuse and involve those directly affected by the problem in the development of an area based drug strategy.

Bridgeways FRC works in conjunction with local agencies and the community to provide a range of different activities that meets the needs of our community. Bridgeways FRC works on the ground supporting the community in practical and reliable ways. Supports available include 1.1 support, counselling, youth groups, recreational groups, parental supports, integration supports etc. The supports available changes to meet the needs of the community. Bridgeways works from a ‘cradle to grave’ approach whereby all of the community are supported throughout the life course.
County Longford Youth Service (CLYS) is a project of Longford Community Resources Clg and a member of Youth Work Ireland. We provide Youth Work provision and methodologies by implementing and delivering a diverse range of youth groups to young people aged 10-24 years, in the catchment area of County Longford including; Longford Town, Edgeworthstown, Granard, Ballymahon and Lanesboro. The Youth Service has a focus on social inclusion and strives to ensure that the voices of the most disadvantaged and marginalised young people are heard and valued. The day to day management of its programmes are undertaken by the Youth Service Manager Nicola Fagan.
The L.E.A.P Project is a community-based youth project which involves young people in developing themselves and their communities. The project targets young people aged 8-18 who have been or are at risk of getting involved in crime/antisocial behaviour. It also targets young people who are potential early school leavers or those not in education. The LEAP project also has a family support worker to provide additional support to families involved in the project by working with the whole family to support positive changes for the young person, the family and the community.
Longford Sports Partnership aims to increase participation levels in sport and active recreation throughout County Longford. In achieving this, we provide assistance in the areas of sports development, education and training and general information on sporting activities. We work in partnership with sporting clubs, community organisations and local agencies in achieving our goal of You Taking Part; More opportunities, More Engagement, More Awareness. The LSP is part of a national structure to co-ordinate and promote the development of sport at local level and is supported by Sport Ireland.
Longford and Westmeath Education and Training Board have responsibility for education and training through schools, youth work and further education and Training, throughout Longford and Westmeath.

Lus na Gréine Family Resource Centre (FRC) in Granard collaborates with the North Longford community to deliver a broad range of practical, emotional, and social supports across all stages of life. By fostering these partnerships, the FRC plays a vital role in strengthening community resilience and promoting social cohesion. With the dedication of many volunteers who work closely with the management board and staff, the centre provides essential family support services tailored to local needs, empowering children, young people, and their families to reach their full potential. Through its involvement in various social events and community projects, the FRC contributes to building strong social capital, enhancing the area’s reputation as a positive and vibrant place to live.
This is a problem gambling support service based in Bridgeways Family Resource Centre in Ballymahon and providing an outreach service to Lus Na Greine FRC in Granard. They work with the person with the gambling problem as well as the concerned others. The service provides one to one counselling as well as group support, aftercare and works to create awareness around the harmful effects of gambling. It is a donation based service.
